Speed: "You are watching the most advanced designed and one of the fastest racing cars in the world. It's called the Mach 5. Watch it really go."
Mr. Van Ruffle: "You stoneheads! Don't tell me you're sorry!"
Motorcyclist: "But we are sorry, Mr. Van Ruffle. Speed's strong and he got help from this guy in the form of a helicopter."
Mr. Van Ruffle: "What kind of excuse is that? It's ridiculous!"
Ace Duecey: "I figured those guys would botch the job and they did. Give me $5,000 clams and I'll get the plans."
Mr. Van Ruffle: "You'll charge $5,000 dollars? You sir, are kidding."
Ace Duecey: "Oh no."
Mr. Van Ruffle: "Oh yeah?"
Ace Duecey: "Ace Duecey doesn't kid. If you want those plans it'll cost ya' $5,000 clams. If you don't want em', forget it."
Mr. Van Ruffle: "Alright, it's a deal."
Ace Duecey: "You'll have the plans for the Mach 5."
Ace Duecey: "Clever of you to hide those designs on that windshield! It makes my job easier. To get them, all I have to do is take his car!"
Ace Duecey: "Out target's car 5. We want its windshield. The other cars are going to be in the way. Get rid of them!"
Ace Duecey: "You better do as I say, otherwise, I'll smash you right off the course! All I want is your windshield glass. Give it to me or I promise you'll never reach the finish line!"
Speed: "There's only one reason he wants the glass. I'll bet Pops hid the design on it. Come on! Take it off if you can!"
Ace Duecey: "A fool of a kid!"
Speed: "Oohhhhhh!!!"
Narrator: "Speed is in the most desperate race of his life. Will he finish it, or will it finish him? See the next episode of Speed Racer."
Speed: "The engine doesn't exist. I destroyed it."
Blaggard: "You destroyed it, eh?"
Speed: "But I remember the numbers. Let's go to Misty Valley and split up the loot three ways. We'll be glad to share it. If you don't share it, I won't tell you what was on the engine. So, think it over, Mr. Blaggard. Think it over carefully."
Snake: "I was told that you're one of the greatest racers in the world. Is that true?"
Speed: "Who are you, anyway?"
Snake: "Snake Oiler's the name and I'm a pretty good racer myself. Why don't we ever race to see which one of us is better?"
Speed: "Okay, let's go."
Snake: "Make the pile of cars higher."
Crane Operator: "You'll never be able to make it!"
Snake: "Don't argue with me. Do as I say. Make it higher."
Announcer: "Next, Mr. Snake Oiler."
Announcer: "He did it! Snake Oiler just drove over the top of the biggest stack we've had yet. Mr. Oiler is a star member of the world-famous Car Acrobatic Team."
Speed: "He's on the Car Acrobatic Team, huh? Well, I've sure heard of them."
Ring Attendent: "All right, ladies and gentlemen, who'll now try to beat him?"
Snake: "I was just warming up. Everybody's going to have to do some fancy driving to beat that. How about you, Speed? Can you beat me?"
Speed: "I don't know."
Spritle: "Huh? What do you mean, Speed? You can beat him. Go ahead. Try it. Are you scared?"
Snake: "You'd better not try it, Speed. Because if you crash, I'll lose my best competitor in the next Alpine Race."
Speed: "I'll try."
Spritle: "Hooray! Hooray!"
Speed: "I'll get over the top."
Trixie: "Don't, Speed. You'll never make it."
Sparky: "Trixie's right, Speed. Now, don't do it."
Trixie: "Remember how important the big Alpine Race will be. If something happens to you now, you'll be out of it. Just look how high that stack is."
Speed: "She's right, alright. If I'm going to beat Snake, I'll beat him in the Alpine Race. I'll have a better chance to win that. Well, I've got to. I've got to win the Alpine Race."
Spritle: "I know Speed can drive over that, but right now, he's nothing but a scared chicken. Phooey!"
Trixie: "He's brave. It takes real courage to decide not to challenge Snake here, but to wait for the Alpine Race."
Spritle: "Hmm, seems complicated."
Trixie: "You'll understand what I mean when it's time for that race."
Spritle: "I hope so."
Trixie: "The Car Acrobatic Team."
Speed: "Daredevil drivers."
Snake: "We'll be seeing you in the Alpine Race!"
Speed: "I going to win. I'm going to beat Snake Oiler and everyone of the Car Acrobatic Team."
Speed: "I'm going to drive even better then the best racer I've ever seen, Racer X."
Spritle: "Go, Speed, go!"
Pops: "180. You've done enough practicing on this special course, Speed. Now, you practice here, on the first chasm jump of the Alpine course."
Pops: "If you don't make the jump, you'll fall a thousand feet into the river. You've got to make it."
Speed: "Oh!"
Spritle: "The Acrobats!"
Pops: "The Car Acrobatic Team."
Speed: "Well, now I'm going to try it."
Pops: "Good luck. Get ready. Go!"
Speed: "What's the big idea, Racer X?"
Racer X: "I came to warn you. It's too dangerous. Be careful of falling rocks like those. Last year, they wiped out a dozen drivers who could have crossed easily."
Speed: "How?"
Racer X: "Just by keeping their minds on their driving and the obstacles in the way. But most drivers are worried about the cars ahead of them and how to catch up and pass them, so they sometimes forget to concentrate on the course itself. The plateau areas around here are very tricky. The ground is hard, but when it rains heavily, the ground loosens and changes and tires skid treacherously. Take my advice, Speed, otherwise this will be your last race. Very few cars ever reach the finish line. It's just too dangerous."
Speed: "Then you don't think I can win, Racer X?"
Racer X: "You can only if you keep your mind on the hazards of the course. Oh, one more thing, Speed. Listen carefully. As you race down toward the big jump, don't be going too fast, because you'll cause another landslide and crash down into the river. Also, when you reach the other side and start to climb again, don't try to go straight up toward the top. Zigzag along the slope. It takes longer, but it's safer, and in the long run, you'll pick up some time. Remember, throughout the whole area, they're patches of ice. One wrong twist of your steering wheel and that'll be the end of you. You'll find this is the toughest course you've ever raced and you'll need every ounce of experience and skill, Speed."
Speed: "Thanks for the advice. I'll try to follow all of it, Racer X."
Racer X: "Heh heh, because if you don't run a good race, I won't enjoy winning."
Speed: "You'll be in the Alpine Race?"
Racer X: "Speed, I'm going to win the Alpine Race. I'm not going to give you a break, hmm hmm."
Captain Terror: "Members of the Car Acrobatic Team. Tomorrow, the Great Alpine Race begins. A race which we must not lose."
CAT: "We will not lose. We will win."
Captain Terror: "Good. Now let us gather our strength from the violence of the elements!"
Captain Terror: "I have decided to enter seven of you in the Alpine Race. The fastest, trickiest, strongest and most ruthless seven. Kobra will read off the names."
Kobra: "You must observe Captain Terror's first and most important racing rule. Do everything to to win. Stop at nothing. And if you have to break the law, break it."
Announcer: "Here comes the Car Acrobatic Team. Seven of the fastest and trickiest drivers anyone has seen anywhere. Driving car number 9, the mysterious Racer X. Nobody knows who he is or where he came from. Here comes a last-minute entry. It's the Mach 5, driven by Speed Racer. The race starts in 15 seconds."
Sparky: "Try to win Speed. But most of all, be careful."
Speed: "The brakes don't seem to work very well. But I checked everything carefully."
Narrator: "The dangerous Alpine Race is well underway and already there have been several bad crashes. Does Speed have a chance to win against the treacherous Car Acrobatic Team? And will Pops be alright? There are thrills and terrible dangers ahead."
Narrator: "Speed is competing in the Alpine Race. The most dangerous race in the world. Favored to win is the tricky Car Acrobatic Team, consisting of seven daredevil drivers in cars equipped with ingenius wings. Their orders are to win the trophy, no matter what the cost."
Speed: "Well, now that Pops has redesigned the Mach 5 so that its got small wings underneath, I may have a chance to beat the Car Acrobatic Team. Poor Pops. All that work was too much for him. I'm glad Trixie got him to the hospital and I hope he's alright. Now we're getting into the higher mountains. So far, so good, but it's going to be really dangerous up ahead."
Speed: "I've got the toughest competitors I've ever seen against me. The Car Acrobatic Team can do everything with their cars. We all saw how they flew across that deep chasm with the river a thousand feet below. Not one of them crashed. Will I be able to make it?"
Speed: "Snake, why's the course being blocked?"
Snake: "I was sure you wouldn't make it. Look."
Speed: "Haa!"
Snake: "With the heavy rain, parts of the course have been completely wiped away. It's gonna be tough."
Speed: "Maybe we can take another way."
Snake: "There is no other way. And when we try to get through, we'll cause more landslides. Besides, our tires won't take hold of that wet ground. We've decided to draw lots to see which one of us goes first. It'll be more dangerous for each car following."
Speed: "It's a fair way to do it though."
Snake: "Everyone who wants to draw for being first, step forward."
Snake: "What's a matter with you guys? Are you racing car drivers or chickens?"
Snake: "Alright, now come on, what about you, Speed?"
Speed: "I'll draw."
Snake: "Good. Well, finally now we know who the brave men are and who're the chickens."
Racer X: "Wait a minute!"
Snake: "Huh?"
Speed: "The Masked Racer, Racer X."
Racer X: "I'm staying in the race and I want to join the drawing to see who the first driver will be."
Snake: "Be my guest, but it won't make any difference, because I'm gonna be the only one to get through."
Racer X: "Well, I'm glad you're safe, Speed. But you only have one life, so you'd better be careful."
Snake: "Now let's get it over with. Let's draw lots. I have six matches. Each one of them has marks on it. One mark means that driver will go first. The other positions will be according to marks on the matches. Okay, draw."
Ender: "Okay, I'll try it. Ah! It's got one notch on it! That means I go first! I go first! Wahoo!"
Snake: "You draw next, Tiger."
Tiger: "Me? Sure. I'm in third place."
Snake: "Next."
Brawn: "Two notches. I go second."
Snake: "Next."
Racer X: "I'll be the last. You go ahead."
Snake: "Ehh."
Speed: "Oh! Six notches. I drew last position, oh."
Snake: "Heh heh heh heh heh heh."
Snake: "Your turn, Racer X."
Racer X: "I'll be in the fifth position."
Snake: "It's all settled than, isn't it? I get the fourth position, don't I? Start engines! Go!"
Snake: "Okay, Tiger, it's up to you to make it now."
Tiger: "Well, here it goes."
Snake: "Go for the Car Acrobatic Team. I'll be following right in back of ya', Tiger."
Racer X: "The drivers on the Car Acrobatic Team are supposed to better than that."
Snake: "They are. Just watch. I'll show you. I'm gonna make the jump safely and prove to you what a fabulous driver I am."
Racer X: "Every time a driver tries to make it across, some more of the earth caves in. And it's going to be even worse when we try to make the jump. But, as a professional racer, I've got to meet the challenge. If you're smart, you'll give up the race, but if you don't, good luck."
Speed: "Here I go."
Driver in Blue: "Don't go, kid. It's no disgrace if you turn back now."
Driver in Yellow: "That's right, Speed. You're just going to throw yourself down into that chasm if you start now"
Racer X's motto: "As a professional racer, I've got to meet the challenge." (Racer X's words in Speed's mind).
Spritle's Voice: "It'll bring you plenty of good luck."
Speed: "I'm going to need it, Spritle."
Narrator: "Have the ice and treacherous mountain course been too dangerous for Speed? And, has the Mach 5 joined the wreckage of the other cars at the bottom of the chasm? Is this Speed's last race? Don't miss the next thrilling episode of Speed Racer!"
Speed: "This is the second day of the most dangerous race in the world and this most treacherous part of the entire course is so full of landslides caused by the heavy rain, that some drivers were too afraid to go on. But six of us, myself, Racer X and members of the Car Acrobatic Team decided to continue and we drew lots to see which of us would go first. It would be increasingly hazardous for each man who followed."
Racer X: "What position will you be in?"
Speed: "Last!"
Snake: "I'll be the one to make it."
Speed: "No one had been able to cross the chasm and now it was Racer X's turn to try."
Speed: "It's my turn now and I've got to make it."
Trixie: "Speed! Speed! Oh, Speed."
Gargoyle: "Heehhaa!"
Trixie: "Ahhh!"
Gargoyle: "I am not Speed, as Speed Racer no longer exists."
Trixie: "Ahhhh!"
Gargoyle: "Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!"
Speed: "Oh, my eyes! It hurts my eyes. What's the matter with me? I can't see."
Speed: "It's Spritle's good luck charm."
Spritle's voice: "If you carry it with you, it'll bring you good luck and you'll win."
Speed: "Where's the Mach 5? I've got to find it. Where is it?"
Speed: "I hope the Mach 5 hasn't been damaged. I'll go on with the race, even though I can't see. I've got to beat the Car Acrobatic Team."
Speed: "Where is it? Where's the Mach 5? Who's there? Huh?"
Snake: "Snake. So, you're still alive, huh, Speed?"
Speed: "I'm surprised that after that crash, you are."
Snake: "What's your story, Speed? Don't tell me the Mach 5 isn't running anymore?"
Speed: "Where is the car?!"
Snake: "You're unable to see now? Well, isn't that just too bad? Snap out of it. It looks as if I'm going to win the Alpine Race. You'd better wait here til somebody rescues you. I'm glad to say your racing days are over for good, Speed. Eh, I guess I proved I'm a much better driver than you, Speed. I'm on my way to victory!"
Narrator: "Racer X. Unknown to Speed, this is his older brother, Rex, who ran away from home years ago."
Speed: "I smell the oil of the Mach 5's engine."
Speed: "I've started it. But how am I going to drive without seeing the road?"
Speed: "I recognize the sound of that car. It can only belong to Racer X and that must mean that he's come back into the race. Well, so have I. Here goes!"
Racer X: "Keep at it, Speed. You've got a chance to make it. If you're lucky."
Speed: "I'm stuck. The grip tires seem to be broken."
Racer X: "Easy, Speed. Ease it out gently."
Racer X: "Come on, Speed. You can't give up now."
Speed: "It sounds as if Racer X is leaving and he won't give me any help. I'm on my own."
Racer X: "I can't leave him there like that. But what choice do I have? What can I do?"
Speed: "That was a bad crash. I hope he hasn't been hurt."
Speed: "Racer X!? Racer X?! Where are you?! Racer X, where are you?!"
Racer X: "Oh, over here, Speed."
Speed: "He sounds badly hurt. But where is he?"
Speed: "Racer X?"
Racer X: "Here. Over here."
Speed: "I'm coming."
Racer X: "Speed, you're a brave young man. I'm proud to have you for a brother." (Racer X's inner thoughts).
Speed: "Where are you, Racer X? I can't find you."
Speed: "Racer X. Are you hurt badly?"
Racer X: "I think my legs have been broken, Speed."
Speed: "Well, hang on to me. I'll try to get you into the Mach 5."
Racer X: "Speed, don't bother about me. You need help yourself. Your eyes must hurt you."
Speed: "Neither one of us will be able to go on with the race."
Racer X: "Snake Oiler's the only one of the Car Acrobatic Team who's continuing in the race."
Speed: "Snake Oiler, huh? I want to beat him more than anything in the world."
Racer X: "Your car's the only other one left. But you can't see and I can't even walk, so Snake is liable to win. But Speed, I have an idea that just might work."
Speed: "Huh?!"
Racer X: "You be my legs and at the same time, I'll be your eyes."
Speed: "Oh! I get it. You and I will be a team?"
Racer X: "Yes, maybe we can overtake Snake and win. Come on."
Racer X: "The final checkpoint is 250 yards up ahead. Put your brakes on."
Checkpoint Attendent: "I'm glad to see you reached here safely. Now, why don't you both take a break?"
Speed: "I don't want one."
Racer X: "But Speed, you need a rest."
Speed: "Have you seen the Car Acrobatic Team's car?"
Checkpoint Attendent: "The car passed by this checkpoint within the hour."
Speed: "Thanks. Hang on."
Racer X: "Are you alright, Speed?"
Speed: "Yes, I won't rest until Snake's been beaten."
Racer X: "Well, then you'll have to hurry. Give her the gun."
Racer X: "That's it. Give her even more."
Racer X: "Even faster."
Racer X: "I see him. He's just ahead. At last Speed, we've caught up to him."
Snake: "The Mach 5, and I thought I was the only driver left in the race!"
Snake: "He'll never be able to follow me over this chasm."
Snake: "Go ahead, Speed. It's your turn to try to get over that, without crashing down to those rocks in the bottom."
Racer X: "Speed, there's a broken bridge up ahead. Use your brakes."
Speed: "Snake managed to get across it, didn't he? So will I."
Racer X: "How? That bridge is falling apart. Speed, you'd better use the brakes before it's too late and we smash up."
Speed: "Tell me when we get to the broken bridge. I'm going to try to get across it."
Racer X: "The Acrobatic Team's cars have special equipment for flying. The Mach Five can't do it. Use the brake!"
Speed: "I'm giving her the gas."
Racer X: "Stop! Speed, we can't make it. Jam on the brakes! Quick!
Racer X: "You made it! I don't think you would have been able to do it with your eyes open."
Speed: "There was no other way, I had to make it. Now I gotta win."
Announcer: "The Alpine Race is almost over. And because of the terrific storm and the dangerous course, out of a starting lineup of 86 cars, only 2 cars are still in the race. One of them is car number 12, driven by Snake Oiler of the Car Acrobatic Team. And the other is the Mach 5, driven by Speed Racer. Ladies and gentlemen, if you look to your left, you can see the remaining members of the Car Acrobatic Team waiting for the end of the race."
CAT Member A: "Captain Terror."
Captain Terror: "Yes?"
CAT Member A: "I just got a report that Snake is way in the lead."
Kobra: "Snake's my brother and he's going to bring a glorious victory to the Car Acrobatic Team!"
Captain Terror: "We will be famous as the greatest racing team in the world. No one can beat us! Hurry, Snake, bring us the crowd of victory!"
Speed: "It's hard to catch up to him. He's liable to win. If only I could see, I'd go even faster."
Racer X: "But Speed, you musn't give up."
Speed: "Why not? I don't think I have a chance of beating him."
Racer X: "Speed, you still have a chance to win. I can see something you can't. Oil is leaking from Snake's car."
Speed: "Oil?"
Racer X: "If he keeps on going at his present speed, he's gonna blow up."
Speed: "He may notice the trouble though and take time out to stop the leak."
Racer X: "I don't think he'll even notice it. Snake's paying too much attention to the road in front of him."
Speed: "Then he'll be wiped out if his car blows up."
Racer X: "Yes, it might be the end of him. But we're not going to help him. Not if you want to win the race."
Speed: "It wouldn't be right. I've got to try to warn him. It's only fair."
Racer X: "Okay. You're doing the right thing Speed, in trying to warn him."
Speed: "Thanks."
Snake: "Aahh? The Mach 5 again, and it's gaining on me. I can't pull away from it!"
Speed: "Snake, be careful! There's something wrong with your engine. You're leaking oil very badly."
Snake: "I'm not falling for that trick. I'm not gonna stop."
Speed: "Snake! I'm not lying!"
Racer X: "He won't believe you and you've done your best to warn him."
Speed: "Hang on."
Announcer: "And now approaching the finish line is car number 12, driven by Snake Oiler. It looks as if he'll be the winner. Oh, but here comes the Mach 5, with Speed Racer at the wheel. Look at them go!"
Spritle: "Go, Speed, go!"
Trixie: "Go!"
Sparky: "Come on, Speed! You can do it!"
Snake: "I'm gonna win. I'm gonna beat Speed. Ha ha ha."
Captain Terror & Kobra: "Haaa?!"
Snake: "Aahhhh!"
Speed: "Snake wouldn't listen."
Trixie, Spritle, Sparky: "You won, Speed!"
Emcee: "You drove a magnificent race, Speed Racer and you fully deserve to be the winner and champion. Now, go to the hospital where the doctors will make your eyes well again."
Captain Terror: "We will never forget this race and our defeat by the Mach 5 and Speed Racer."
Snake: "I'll get revenge."
Captain Terror: "Snake is right. There will be other races and chances for vengeance. We shall plan for the day, when we once again we will compete against Speed Racer, and on that day we shall not fail. Let's go home."
Racer X: "Speed, you can be a great driver, but you can also be a great man. You value your life even higher than victory. The world needs more people like you. I'm proud to have you as a brother."
Speed: "Have you seen Racer X? I've got to find him to thank him."
Trixie: "I saw him in the Mach 5 only a few minutes ago."
Spritle: "Nobody's in the car now."
Speed: "There isn't? That means he was able to walk away from it. His legs weren't broken. He just told me that so I'd let him help me drive. He deserves this trophy, not me."
Trixie: "Oh, Speed, all that matters to me is you made it safely. Now let's go to the hospital and get your eyes taken care of."
Narrator: "Speed has just won the most dangerous race in the world. But even more danger and thrills lay just ahead. Be sure to ride with Speed Racer."
Speed: "The man who is behind that wheel is a reckless driver. He almost caused me to crash."
Sparky: "And if that car is entered in the race, you'll have to be extra careful, Speed."
Speed: "You're right. I think that car means bad luck. I hope it's not for me."
Flash: "Lily, have you forgotten that years ago the Malange was wrecked by a car owned by the Three Roses Club? He was knocked off the race course by men who cared more for winning, than they did for a man's life! I'll get even with them all for what they did to our father!"
Speed: "I'll prove it. I don't have to do things like that to win races. I can win them fair and square. I've got to convince Kim I didn't blow up his car."
Narrator: "In the volcanic mountains of Kapetapek, Speed is competing in the most unusual race of his life."
Speed: "I've lost some time because of that molten lava. And I'm not sure if I'm headed in the right direction. I'll have to trust to luck."
Speed: "That's strange. I wonder what's causing all the accidents?"
Speed: "A whirlpool!"
Speed: "We've gotta get away. It won't be easy."
Speed: "Oh, it was stone."
Kabala: "Heh heh heh!"
Speed: "The trees are made of stone. The forest is petrified."
Speed: "It sounds as if they've gone. Now, we've gotta find our way out of here. There must be another tunnel somewhere. Let's look for it."
Racer X: "Mhmm."
Racer X: "Ah, there's a way out right up ahead."
Speed: "Racer X, why did you disguise yourself as a Kapetepekan?"
Racer X: "Hmm? I'll tell you. I was taught to drive mountainous roads by a Kapetepekan named Kabala. I knew none of the tricks of how to race along those tortured roads and broken trails when I first met Kabala. Every racing car driver in the world was afraid of him, but he was kind and helpful to me. He taught me various techniques which only he knew. And then, when I became a professional racing driver, I had a race with Kabala on a mountain path. Suddenly, before he had a chance to avoid it, there was a landslide. And his car fell into the valley below. I searched for him. But I never saw him again. So to return his kindness, I disguised myself as Kabala and try to protect the treasure of the Kapetepeks."
Speed: "And the borders of this land?"
Racer X: "That's right, Speed. This race was begun because someone didn't like Kapetepek keeping its borders closed. And if you win this race Speed, the borders of Kapetepek will be open to anybody in the world. The country will be ruined."
Speed: "That's nonsense! I'm getting back into the race! I don't care about any silly reason for racing like you just gave me! I'm racing to win. That's all. And I'm gonna do it! I'll see you at the finish line, Racer X! There's nothing you can say that will try to stop me from being the winner! Nothing!"
Racer X: "Speed, come back here! Listen to me! Speed!"
Speed: "It's no use talking any further, Racer X. All I'm interested in is winning."
Speed: "They were too greedy and anyone who becomes too greedy is punished one way or another."
Speed: "Somehow I've got to go faster."
Speed: "He's coming!"
Speed: "That's Kadar's car. Well, that's the end of him."
Racer X: "There's not much time Speed. We'd better hurry."
Speed: "Okay."
Racer X: "I've risked my life to save your treasure. Now you gentlemen must come to some agreement. Compromise. Open your borders to the world some of the time."
Speed: "For months, I've been driving in races all over the world. There have been a lot of bad crashes and I've had some close calls, but the danger is a part of racing, just as is the thrill of winning. I'll go on competing in races throughout the world, because wherever there's a challenge, I've gotta meet it."
Henchman #1: "The police are on their way to investigate the cars that just fell. They're liable to find the secret entrance!"
Brotch: "You know what to do with it. Blow it up."
Henchman #1: "Blow it up?"
Brotch: "What's the matter with your ears? Blow it up, I said!"
Henchman #1: "But if the secret entrance is blown up, how will we get out of here? We'll be trapped in the secret cave forever."
Henchman #2: "You heard the order. Follow it."
Speed: "Brotch is a very clever man. He's committed robberies all over the country. The police haven't caught him, so maybe we can find out where his hideout is and report it to the police."
Henchman #1: "Stop that car! Don't let em' get away!"
Henchman #2: "They think the car is a juicy steak!"
Inspector Detector: "This proves they're guilty. Use the Mach 5 and try to catch them."
Mr. Cumulus: "Dr. Nightcall did a brilliant job of building a second Mach 5, didn't he? You'll find it just as tricky and fast, so you'll never catch me!"
Mr. Cumulus: "With a weapon like this, no one tells me what I can or cannot do. And now that I've got my own Mach 5, we don't need two in the world."
Mr. Cumulus: "Ah, he's right behind me, and he's a professional racer. But this car can't do something he can't."
Speed: "If that were an ordinary car, I could catch up to it, but I can't when it's another Mach 5."
Dr. Nightcall: "Yes you can, Speed!"
Speed: "Huh?!"
Dr. Nightcall: "Listen to me. I built the car exactly like your Mach 5, but you're forgetting one thing. The bomb is heavy and it will slow down the car enough for you to get a chance to catch up to it. But you've got to hurry. Every second counts! You must save the people in the city from being wiped out."
Mr. Fastbucks: "They say that knowledge is power, and if that's so, I already have great power. There is nothing I can lose at. Nothing at all. Ever. And woe be it to anyone who gets in my way."
Mr. Fastbucks: "Yes, I'm wanted by the police in at least half-a-dozen countries and I'm near the top of the Interpol list. I'm wanted for robbery, murder, swindling and cheating at dominoes. I robbed that bank yesterday because I needed some pocket money."
Speed: "You're the most dangerous man I've ever met and you're wacky!"
Mr. Fastbucks: "No, I'm not wacky, I'm a genius! And I'm about to become the richest man on Earth. Unfortunately, you know too much, so I'm going to have to get rid of you permanently. I have just the method, so stay right there. I'll get back to you later. Ha ha ha ha ha!"
Speed: "I'll try to win the next race, Trixie. But right now,I've got something more important to do. Even though I couldn't help Dr. Bone when he was alive, maybe I can still help him."
Racer X: "Just a little sightseeing. By the way, I heard you had some trouble with a gang of assassins yesterday. Is that true?"
Speed: "Yes, but how did you find out?"
Racer X: "Oh, a little bird told me about it. Huh huh huh huh huh."
Speed: "I'd like to find out more about those mysterious men, Racer X."
Racer X: "You're a professional racer, Speed and that's dangerous enough. Don't try to meddle in police business."
Speed: "But those men have a fantastic car and their driving is so skillful, I find it almost unbelieveable."
Racer X: "Just forget about them, Speed. They're too dangerous. Keep your mind on racing and you won't get into trouble. You were lucky to get away from them, but if you meet them again, you might not be that lucky."
Speed: "Racer X. What a strange man. Sometimes he acts like a friend."
Gaff Gunsel: "Gaff Gunsel is my name and I'm the leader of this division of assassins, but our organization is worldwide. You should have kept away from us, but now we gotta get rid of you, so you don't tell the police what you've learned. Walk over to that statue."
Professor Anarchy: "Drop the gun and get over there! In a way you're lucky, cause you're going to have me put a bullet through you. You should feel flattered. You'll be the 2,708th man I've so honored. Ha ha ha ha."
Racer X: "Wait a minute!"
Professor Anarchy: "Hmm?!"
Speed: "Racer X, what are you doing here?"
Racer X: "Save yourself the trouble, Professor Anarchy. I'll take care of the kid."
Speed: "What's that? Don't tell me you're a member of the assassin gang?"
Racer X: "Well, I am. I'm a full-fledged member of the worldwide assassins. Are you surprised? You see, I was sick and tired of racing where I risked my neck for a few dollars and a lot of glory. I'll get more here."
Speed: "And I thought you were decent. You're rotten."
Racer X: "I advised you not to try to find out more about the assassins. Don't you remember? But you wouldn't listen to me. Too bad you didn't."
Professor Anarchy: "Why waste time talking, Racer X? Get to work on him."
Spritle: "Don't let him be Mayor. Listen, everybody, Juan was not bitten accidentally by a snake. It was part of a plot so he could take over the village."
Professor Loon: "Professor, I have something quite interesting to show you."
Professor Carnivory: "I don't care. I'm not interested."
Professor Loon: "Aren't you? We'll see. Come and see. I've captured some prisoners. It shouldn't be hard for you to imagine what I plan to do to them."
Professor Loon: "Ruined! Ruined! This means the end of my beloved country which loves war!"
Assassin #2: "Hmm! Something unexpected happened and our plan didn't work! We failed to assassinate Princess Gracious!"
Assassin #1: "True, the plan didn't work, but somebody stopped it."
Assassin #2: "What do you mean?"
Assassin #1: "Take a look at this. I picked the mirror up, gentlemen. It was by the starting line. Someone used it to flash light into our agent's eyes. This means only one thing. One of the racers is a secret agent for the International Police and they must have found out about our plot. He waited, then he used the mirror. We must find out who he is."
Assassin #3: "You're right!"
Assassin #1: "Are you ready? Run that film."
Assassin #4: "We'll take a good look at all of the racers taking part in the Mystic Grand Prix. This is Bearcat Stunts, the famous racer who came here from the country of Pong Ping. He's been a professional racer for 15 years. Tailgate Jones, from the country of South Valsania".
Assassin #4: "The computer says these three are likely suspects of being a secret agent."
Assassin #1: "If one of them is a secret agent, then let's play it safe and get rid of them all."
Assassin #3: "I've been studying the pictures and I know their names by heart. This is Rusty Muffle, a fast man on curves. Tailgate Crumple, who is prone to accidents and Speed Racer, who drives the Mach Five."
Chief: "No. 8, it's imperative you keep a close eye on Rudolph Elegantor."
Agent 8: "Rudolph Elegantor just left his hotel and is headed somewhere."
Chief: "Okay, don't lose him. Follow him everywhere."
Agent 8: "Yes, sir. Ahhh, ahhh, oohh!!"
Chief: "No 8., what's up?! No 8., what's up?!"
Elegantor: "Hmm, hmm. Hello there, Chief."
Chief: "Who is that speaking?"
Elegantor: "Rudolph Elegantor. Forget about No. 8. You won't be talking to him ever again. No. 8 had an unfortunate little accident which is too bad, because he was one of your best agents in the International Secret Service. Hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm."
Elegantor: "Ah, gentlemen, we got rid of Rusty Muffle and Tailgate Crumple, but we failed to get Speed."
Assassin #3: "Uh oh!!"
Elegantor: "Speed's got to be a secret agent, but that won't stop us. We'll drop Operation A and do Operation B, which means we failed to take over Ambrocia, so we'll concentrate on taking over Abalonia."
Assassin #1: "Fine, I'll be just as happy taking over the country of Abalonia."
Assassin #2: "It should be easy, because in a few days, they're holding the Twist and Turn Race there."
Elegantor: "That'll give up the perfect opportunity to take over. Once we get rid of a certain knight in our way, it will be checkmate."
Speed: "Well, that's the end of that terrible gang of assassins. They tried to assassinate Princess Gracious of Ambrocia and then President Montebank of Abalonia, but they failed both times. It's the end of that gang, but there will be others. As long as men seek power illegally, there will be evil things done in the world. But I'll do all I can to see that men like them never suceeed. If everyone did the same, it would be a more peaceful world."
Racer X: "Speed, listen to me. We worked together to get rid of those assassins. But from now on, we're professional racers again and I'll do my best to win. I'll try to beat you."
Speed: "And I'll try to win."
Racer X: "Good luck. The President's coming into his box to give the signal for the race to begin."
Racer X:"In a race, it's every man for himself."
Speed: "If he hadn't helped me, I wouldn't be here today. But a race belongs to the best racer and I've got to prove it's me."
Mark Meglaton: "I need someone to collect the art treasures for me, and I've decided that Speed, who travels to races all over the world, will be the perfect one to carry out the jobs."
Meglaton: "What?! Who are you?!"
Racer X: "I just pulled out the wires on that explosive device. Now the Mach 5 can't be blown up"
Meglaton: "What?!"
Speed: "You've saved me, Racer X. Thanks."
Racer X: "You can thank me later. Come on, let's try to get this belt off."
Meglaton: "You failed to stop me. I can either shoot both of you from here or I can fire into that bomb and set it off! Either way, you won't be able to escape me!"
Racer X: "Try to get away."
Speed: "They're too fast for us. We can't get away from them."
Racer X: "I have an idea."
Speed: "What do you mean? There's no way to stop them."
Racer X: "I'm gonna try something"
Racer X: "Oh, no."
Speed: "Wait, listen. Let me work as Dr. Fantasty's assistant. I can be very useful to him in the lab. Besides, from now on, I want to work for a winner. And I think that you're clever enough to succeed in your plan to dominate the world. I want to be on your side from now on."
Inspector Detector: "So far, we've gotten reports that 48,000 cars have disappeared with nobody driving them. Chief, there's only one person I know who might be able to get to the bottom of this. It's Speed Racer."
Speed: "Trixie, the Mach 5 has been put under remote control of some kind. We're helpless!"
Pops: "Don't be stupid! Smashing cars on purpose is ridiculous and anyone who does it shouldn't be allowed to drive a car. The human body can stand much less impact than a car, so you're bound to be hurt. Forget car wrestling and figure how we're going to get the Mach 5 back into shape."
Mr. Skyhigh: "They ride fast, heavily armed motorcycles and attack swiftly and then disappear into the hills. Their leader seems to be a young man with a wily genius and a fierceness of what could be his ancestors-- the dreaded Apache Indians in our early West."
Mr. Freeload: "What are you wearing in your hair? A Superstar topaz worth a fortune. I've seen one before. This is the same kind of topaz Baron Von Vondervon had on his tie pin. Where'd you get this topaz?"
Yvonne: "Give it back to me! It belonged to my mother. She gave it to me before she passed away."
Mr. Freeload: "Your mother? You must be Baron Von Vondervon's long-lost daughter, who's been missing for twelve years. You're like money in the bank."
Lollie: "Mr. Freeload, we're losing time. Come on, hurry!"
Mr. Freeload: "Ah, forget it. You can drive without me from now on."
Lollie: "Huh?"
Mr. Freeload: "I found a better way to get my hooks into the Baron. Ha ha ha ha! Ah ha ha ha ha!"
Speed: "There's nothing to eat on the island, so we can't hold out very long. This is one tough spot the Mach 5 can't help us out of. If only I could use the car radio, but that was broken in the crash. And I don't know which direction to send the homing robot, so that's out, too. Even the cutters are useless. And the special wheels. Even the oxygen tank. No, I'm afraid the Mach 5 can't help us."
Speed: "Now listen carefully to my plan, everybody. We could hang the Mach 5 under a bunch of the advertising balloons that we'll fill with hydrogen. Then we can hook a propellor to the Mach 5's engine. If my theory proves correct, we have sort of a makeshift dirigible, wouldn't we?"
Narrator: "The surviving members of the Car Acrobatic Team, meet high in the Bavarian Alps, as their leader addresses them."
Captain Terror: "It was exactly one year ago that Speed Racer and his Mach 5 defeated us. We swore that someday we would get our revenge. That time is almost at hand. We will race against Speed Racer again, and this time we will not only defeat him, we will destroy him! Ha ha ha ha ha."
Captain Terror: "We shall challenge Speed to a race and he will accept the challenge. That will be our opportunity. Then once again, we, the great Car Acrobatic Team, will be recognized as the greatest racers in the world!"
Speed: "The story really begins a year ago, when I was driving in the Alpine Race against teams from all over the world. It was a grueling race over treacherous mountain trails and because of their skill and unique cars, my closest competitors were members of the Car Acrobatic Team. I took advantage of every fair opportunity to pull into the lead. It was dangerous on that ice. Seeing the Car Acrobatic Team in action was an unforgettable sight, but Racer X warned me about them.
Racer X: 'Don't race against them. To win, they'll stop at nothing.'
Many racers were knocked out of the race and Racer X and I barely managed to cross the finish line. The Car Acrobatic Team suffered heavy losses and it was than that their leader vowed vengeance.
Captain Terror: 'You have beaten us, Speed Racer, but I solemnly swear you will pay for our defeat. We shall meet again someday and when we do, we shall not only defeat you, but you will be destroyed!'"
Narrator: "Now it is late at night and Speed is dreaming."
Captain Terror: "Do you remember that race of a year ago, Speed? Think back and remember it well. How could you forget, hey? We will race you again--soon. Over the same treacherous trails. Across the same yawning chasms. Over the same brink of disaster. And we will BEAT YOU! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! AH, HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!"
Narrator: "As he drives through the rainy night, Speed is filled with memories of the first time he saw the spectacular Car Acrobatic Team, and he begins to have second thoughts about meeting their challenge for another race. He thinks perhaps this time, the team will prove too powerful and too tricky for him. Perhaps this time, his luck will run out. The more he remembers, the more worried he becomes. But now, Speed is more determined than ever to meet the challenge of the Car Acrobatic Team."
Speed: "Racer X!"
Racer X: "Speed, a race is not a fight. Don't accept the challenge of the Car Acrobats."
Speed: "How'd you find out about the race, Racer X?"
Racer X: "Never mind! You're a professional racer and a professional racer doesn't fight, he races. And he doesn't hold private grudge races. Go home and forget about a grudge race against the Car Acrobatic Team."
Speed: "I can't. They'll think I'm afraid to accept their challenge to another race. They'll think I can't beat them again. Now get out of the way!"
Racer X: "Speed, don't be a fool. Speed!"
Pops: "Mmm, a fine thing for me to catch a cold the day before an important race."
Trixie: "You've got to stay in bed, Pops. You're running a very high fever."
Pops: "Mmm, I wish my oldest son, Rex were here. I wonder where he is now? If only he hadn't disobeyed me years ago and entered that race. That was when all the trouble started. He was too young. Too inexperienced to compete against the professional racing drivers."
Rex: "There's the flag. I win."
Rex: "Oohhh!"
Pops: "Mmm, he smashed the car! Is he hurt?! Rex! Rex, are you alright?!"
Rex: "Yes, Pops, I am."
Pops: "I'm so glad you weren't hurt, Rex."
Rex: "I would have won if I hadn't skidded. I deserve to be the winner. I was ahead all the way. Well, I'm going to continue racing and someday I'll be the champion of the world."
Pops: "You're much too young yet! I forbid you to be a professional racer until you're older and have more experience behind the wheel!"
Rex: "You can't stop me from racing, Pops! It's in my blood and I'm going to continue doing it!"
Pops: "You'll do what I say! And I forbid you to do anymore racing until you're grown up!"
Rex: "Pops, no matter what you say, I'm gonna continue being a professional racer!"
Pops: "That's no way to talk to your own father! I forbid you to race right now, and that's final!"
Rex: "Then, I'm sorry, Pops. You give me no choice but to run away from home. Goodbye, Pops."
Pops: "Rex, don't be a fool! All I'm asking is you wait a few more years until you've gained experience! Alright, if you feel that way, then stay away!"
Pops: "I hope Rex comes home some day."
Mr. Supremo: "Well, is everybody here?"
Mr. Magneto: "Yes, sir."
Mr. Supremo: "Alright, Mr. Magneto, give me the report."
Mr. Magneto: "As you know, the International Secret Police have been smashing our branch offices. We've discovered that one man is behind the disasters our secret international organization has been suffering. Let us now study a few films of him. The secret agent under the not secret name of Racer X. Some of our best brains and top agents proved no match for Racer X, as time and again, he and his friends outricked and outfought them."
Mr. Magneto: "As you can see, Mr. Supremo, we face the greatest threat since our secret espionage and anarchistic organization was founded. We cannot underestimate the threat to our future posed by this one man. You are witnessing Racer X in action. This secret film was filmed secretly as Racer X confronted two of our top agents. The leaders of one of our main branches. Now, observe carefully the skill with which Racer X defeated a whole company of our most vicious and diabolical fighters."
Mr. Magneto: "The rest of our report will be made by our agent from Hong Kong."
HK Agent: "We were under orders to assassinate a princess from an oil-rich country. Everything went according to plan and the assassination was about to take place. But Racer X was in Hong Kong disguised as a businessman. The assassination attempt failed and our Hong Kong branch was forced to close down. Racer X's business was to put us out of business and he did."
Mr. Supremo: "I've heard enough! The report is about nothing but failure, failure, failure! What have you people been doing to get rid of Racer X, huh?"
Mr. Magneto: "Everything we can, sir. But watch carefully. There's more to our report. Racer X is not the only one who has caused us trouble. A great many of our agents have been defeated by this young man."
Mr. Supremo: "Oh, who's he?"
Mr. Magneto: "A professional racer. One of the best by the name of Speed Racer. He drives a powerful, specially-designed-and-built car called the Mach 5. Here you see film clips of the Great Alpine Race, where he competed against the Car Acrobatic Team, among others."
Mr. Magneto: "In a moment, you will see and learn something fascinating. Watch closely."
Mr. Supremo: "I'm watching! I'm watching!"
Mr. Magneto: "And there you are. Speed Racer and Racer X racing side by side."
Mr. Supremo: "So they competed against each other in the same race? So what?"
Mr. Magneto: "But Mr. Supremo, we've discovered that Racer X is secretly Speed Racer's older brother, Rex Racer, who ran away from home years ago."
Mr. Supremo: "What?!"
Mr. Magneto: "It's true! And not even Speed Racer knows Racer X is his brother."
Mr. Supremo: "That's astounding! But are you sure it's true?"
Mr. Magneto: "Compare their photographs. See the resemblance for yourself."
Mr. Supremo: "So, you have been busy after all. A magnificent job."
Mr. Magneto: "Our next step is to get rid of Racer X forever. This is the Car Acrobatic Team. And now that they will again race against Speed, we're certain that Racer X will also be around. He knows that the Car Acrobats are out for revenge and he'll want to protect his younger brother, Speed. That will give us the opportunity we've been looking for. We will take care of Racer X permanently."
Mr. Supremo: "And what about Speed?"
Mr. Magneto: "Why worry about him? Without Racer X to protect him, he'll be an easy target for the Car Acrobats and they'll take care of him for us. All we have to do is concentrate on getting Racer X."
Mr. Supremo: "Very clever, Mr. Magneto. You've got everything worked out excellently. Ah ha ha ha ha!"
Mr. Magneto: "Now, sir, I suggest we put the plan into effect."
Captain Terror: "We've been waiting for you, Speed. As you can see, we've accepted your letter challenging us to one more race. And this time you will lose. Lose badly."
Speed: "Wait! What do you mean my letter challenging you? I got a letter from you challenging me to one more race. That's why I'm here. I accept the challenge. And I'm gonna win this time, too!"
Captain Terror: "No, you won't! We are the greatest racers in the world and this time we'll prove it!"
Speed: "You failed to prove it the last time we met and you'll fail again! I'm warning you, I'm gonna win!"
Captain Terror: "We'll see! Come on, Speed! Let's go!"
Kobra: "Heh heh! Speed won't make it."
Speed: "Ohh, ohh!"
Kobra: "He's going over the cliff. Ahh!"
Narrator: "Racer X, secretly Speed's older brother, races nearby as the spy syndicate planned."
Mr. Magneto: "Heh heh heh heh heh heh! Heh heh heh heh heh heh! Heh heh heh heh! Well, we've been waiting for you, Racer X, or should I say Rex Racer, the international secret agent."
Racer X: "What's the idea of stopping me?!"
Mr. Magneto: "Eh, very sorry, but this was the only way we could stop you and now we're going to get rid of you forever. You'll never interfere with us again. After him!"
Racer X: "Why'd you try to get rid of me?! Who are you and what's the name of your organization?! Come on, tell me?!"
Agent: "Uh, I'm with the International Spies Incorporated and we want to get rid of you and your brother."
Racer X: "What's that? You're trying to get rid of my brother, Speed?!"
Agent: "Right. We set time bombs in all of the Car Acrobatic Team's cars. If they surround Speed, that'll be the end of your brother!"
Racer X: "I've got to reach Speed before those time bombs on the Car Acrobatic Team's cars go off!"
Mr. Magneto: "Now hold the car steady. One good shot and it'll be the end of Rex Racer. Ha ha ha ha ha, a bullseye! Now, he'll never interfere with our plans again! Okay, another successful mission. Now, let's report the news to Supremo."
Captain Terror: "Ha ha! This road is so narrow, he can't pass us and pull into the lead!"
Captain Terror: "Huh?!"
Racer X: "Ohhh."
Captain Terror: "What's the idea of blocking the road?!" Can't you see we're in the middle of a race?! Get your car out of the way!"
Speed: "Wait a minute! That man's Racer X!"
Racer X: "You've got to stop the race immediately! There are time bombs planted in every one of your cars."
Captain Terror: "Time bombs? What are you talking about? Racer X, what's the matter with you? You've been hurt."
Speed: "Huh? Racer X is hurt?!"
Racer X: "Don't worry, I'll be alright. I found out that the challenging letters you each got were phonies. You didn't write them to each other."
Captain Terror: "Well, all I know is that I didn't write a letter to Speed, challenging him to a race. I got one from him."
Speed: "But I didn't write it."
Racer X: "Both those letters were sent by the International Spies to trick me into coming here. They want to get rid of me."
Captain Terror: "This means you need help, Racer X. Speed, let's call off this race and help him. What do you say?"
Speed: "Good idea. I'm all for it. And we'll race against each other some other time."
Captain Terror: "Come on, let's try to find the spies!"
Racer X: "Don't forget about the time bombs! They were planted in your cars and they're timed to go off within the next hour. Keep away from your cars!"
Captain Terror: "We've got to use our cars right now. We'll have to chance it that the bombs won't go off for awhile yet. Do you know where the spies' headquarters is?"
Racer X: "Yes."
Captain Terror: "We'd never be able to find it in a hurry. We'll need you to show us the way. Are you strong enough to do that?"
Racer X: "Mhmm"
Captain Terror: "Good. We'll use my car. We'll take their own time bombs back to them and give them a taste of their own medicine."
Mr. Supremo: "So, you've taken care of Rex Racer, eh? Excellent."
Mr. Magneto: "Thanks. And as for Speed Racer, he's as good as taken care of, too. The time bombs are scheduled to go off at sunrise."
Mr. Magneto: "Sunrise, eh? That'll be at six o' clock. That means the bombs will go off in only twenty more minutes. I can hardly wait."
Racer X: "Faster! You've got to go faster! We don't have much time left!"
Speed: "I hope we reach the spies' headquarters before those bombs go off! We've got to!"
Racer X: "Look! There it is! There's their hideout!"
Captain Terror: "As soon as we surround it, we'll get away from these cars."
Captain Terror: "Abandon your cars! Run for your lives!"
Mr. Supremo: "What was that? Magneto, didn't you hear something just now?"
Mr. Magneto: "It's probably the wind howling through those mountains."
Mr. Supremo: "Ah."
Speed: "They're finished!"
Captain Terror: "Racer X, how can we thank you? If it hadn't been for you, our race with Speed would have ended in disaster. We would have been blown up with our cars."
Racer X: "Well, now at least we're rid of those spies. They won't be able to cause anymore trouble in the countries of the world and we can have peace."
Racer X: "Huh? Well, Speed, it looks as if the rest of your racing team has flown here in a helicopter to pick you up. Come on, we might as well get out of here."
Captain Terror: "Alright, Racer X. Speed, we'll meet again and when we do, I wish you luck."
Racer X: "When you meet again, I'm sure Speed will beat you again."
Captain Terror: "That's what you think. Come on, let's go."
Speed: "Racer X?"
Racer X: "Hmm?"
Speed: "Are you my brother? Are you my brother, Rex Racer?"
Captain Terror: "You are his brother! I can see the resemblance, even under that mask."
Racer X: "I am. But even though I am his brother, I can't go home again. I'm giving up being a racer and from now on I'll be a full-time international secret agent without a name or country. Goodbye, Speed. I'll try to keep my eye on you and be nearby if you ever need help, no matter where you might go."
Spritle: "Speedy!"
Trixie: "Speed! Speed!"
Spritle: "Speedy!"
Speed: "Huh? The mask. I'm sure it belonged to my brother. Huh? But where is he? What happened to my brother, Rex?"
Speed: "Rex! Rex, where are you!"
Trixie: "Speed, what is it? Did you find Rex at last? There's no one there."
Speed: "Rex, wherever you are, I promise to try to be the best racer in the world and to make you prouder of your younger brother. Goodbye, Rex."
Narrator: "Be sure to see the next thrilling episode of Speed Racer!"
Scrounge: "Well, it won't be long now. I checked the rules very carefully."
Shade: "And what did you come up with, Scrounge?"
Scrounge: "Something very interesting. So where in the rules says there are rules saying it's forbidden to interfere with the other drivers? Nowhere."
Shade: "Interesting."

Speed: "They might win, but they'd lose, too. They'd lose their honor."
Shade: "Their honor?"
Speed: "Sure, who could be proud of winning if he cheated to win? It's not worth it. All the gold in the world isn't worth a man's honor. That's the most precious thing there is."
Shade: "Hmm, out of what stupid book did you get that stupid idea? Little mister goody over there thinks he's smart with ideas like that. Ah, there's a joker for a joker."
Speed: "Thanks, but I don't play your game."
Shade: "I'm warning you, don't try to be smart!"
Scrounge: "I think he needs more than a warning. Give him what he needs, Shade."
Shade: "That'll be a pleasure."
Shade: "Alright, you talk about honor because you're too scared to do everything you can to win?"
Speed: "I'll win fair and square and no other way."
Shade: "Yeah, well that's not the way I'm going to beat you up!"
Speed: "Just remember, you started it!"
Shade: "And I'm gonna finish it!"
Scrounge: "Alright, that's enough! You win the fight!"
Speed: "It's too bad, but he asked for it."
Scrounge: "Okay, you stonehead, get up."
